Mission
The mission of ILA College Bound Success is to move and motivate as we help students escalate and matriculate through college and career. We exist to inspire, encourage, and support students as they strive to soar and survive. CBS does this by educating students about their community and becoming a responsible citizen as they move into college. Additionally, students are matched with mentors who guide and nurture them as they grow. We touch socially, emotionally and financially as we detour students from crime related activity as we assist in building a foundation for life-long learning.
College Bound Success was created in 2013 by volunteers who believe that every student who has the desire and drive to attended college or vocational school, should be able to attend. To date, CBS has placed more than 75 students in college.
CBS provides a structured and supporting environment that fosters opportunities for success. CBS students will:
participate in college related,skill building workshops
participate in activities/workshops that detour involvement in crime
attend college tours/career fairs
participate in community service and volunteer events
interact with mentors who help guide them along the way
participate in SAT/ACT workshops
Through the efforts of community donors and volunteers, we are not only helping our students gain access to higher education, we are transforming the lives of generations to come.
